Laurie Higginbotham is the worst vet. Don’t take your pet here
My cat has always received excellent care. The doctors have always been caring, patient and attentive.
We can't thank the amazing vets & caring, compassionate staff enough for saving our girl! She was hospitalized for pancreatitis that caused her to have diabetic ketoacidosis 🥲 We almost lost her but after 6 days of their 24/7 care we have our girl home & well on her way to living a good life! We are still new to the diabetic journey & getting her levels stabilized but grateful to have our girl thanks to the amazing, dedicated staff!!
I will say this, the staff at the hospital is extremely friendly and loves animals as much as their owners. However, I took my little French bulldog in there who had a hurt leg and was screaming in pain for a emergency visit. Now I understand that it's a emergency clinic and they have to triage everything but we waited there for 4 hours to get an x-ray. They came back and said that they didn't find anything on the X-ray and they needed to double charge me (totaling almost a thousand dollars) to send the X-ray off to a actual radiologist for further investigation. A few days later I got a half-assed answer with no clear results. They basically said that they couldn't find anything and to just keep an eye on it. And for the last two weeks my dog has been limping around and anytime I pick him up incorrectly he screams in pain. I've been calling to ask for an update on the results of the X-ray and they keep telling me literally like 8 or 9 times now that they would call me back within an hour and no one ever does. Finally, I got a call back from a doctor that said she will investigate further and also refund part of the money because of the terrible service and the lack of timeliness on the radiology report. That still has not happened and it's been 3 weeks now. At this point I'm done messing with these people and I'm going to go somewhere else. Edit* being the only emergency vet in the area, my same dog started having shallow breathing and I took him there and they put him in an oxygen room and asked me if I wanted to spend $1,500 on the spot I told him I couldn't afford it I'm just going to have to take him home and see how he does they gave him to me and he literally died in my lap 5 minutes later. They could have saved him. They treat your dog like a car at a mechanic shop, I can't imagine taking a dog out of an oxygen chamber knowing it's going to die. So after he died, before I left and could take the body they came in and said oh yeah here is your bill for $780 to inject him with some antibiotics before he died 5 minutes later. These people are heartless I don't care what anybody says.
Staff are very kind and helpful but DAMN they make sure to get their money's worth out of you
They actually care about animals and their quality of life. Highly recommend.
We recently took our dog to this emergency clinic after he suddenly became unable to walk, which was extremely concerning. We expected clear guidance and honest communication in a stressful situation, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. After initial bloodwork and a quick scan, we were told our dog was “severely dehydrated” and strongly encouraged to pursue overnight hospitalization with IV fluids and an abdominal ultrasound, with an estimate of around $4,000. This was presented with a sense of urgency that made it feel like the only responsible option. However, no one asked basic but important questions about whether he had been eating or drinking normally, which we later learned is essential when evaluating dehydration. The following day, our regular veterinarian reviewed the exact same lab results and confirmed that he was not severely dehydrated. Our vet also identified likely gallbladder involvement—something that was not communicated to us during the ER visit. This left us feeling like the situation had been presented in a way that did not fully align with the actual findings. We were also confused by the antibiotic choice. While leptospirosis was mentioned, it did not appear to be the primary concern, and we were not given a clear explanation as to why a broader-spectrum antibiotic was not considered. We also had difficulty obtaining our dog’s records. They were not sent promptly, and our primary vet had to call directly to retrieve them, which delayed our ability to move forward with appropriate care. The most frustrating part of this experience was the lack of transparency with billing. We were clearly told medications would cost $166, but were then charged approximately $300 more due to a “mistake.” This price was not honored, and there was no effort made to correct or take responsibility for the discrepancy. In an already stressful situation, this felt extremely unfair. We understand that emergency clinics must be cautious and consider worst-case scenarios. However, that responsibility also comes with the expectation of clear communication, accurate representation of urgency, and transparency in pricing—especially when pet owners are in a vulnerable and emotional state. Overall, this experience felt rushed, poorly communicated, and financially misleading. We left feeling more confused than supported, which is not what anyone hopes for when seeking emergency care for their pet.
I brought my toy poodle, Konna Faye, to this animal hospital after 5PM on a Saturday for neck pain. Everyone from the front desk ladies to the vet were so incredibly nice and friendly. I felt like every single person I encountered genuinely cared about my pet and wanted to do everything they could to make her feel better. They had her taken to the back for examination within five minutes of checking in, and the whole visit lasted less than two hours. (I’ve spent entire days in animal hospitals before.) While I realize this won’t be the norm if they are extremely busy, I believe they are one of the more efficient hospitals I’ve ever been to. The vet tech we had (I’m so sorry, I can’t remember his name) was exceptional and really took his time to explain everything to me to make sure I understood her treatment going forward. If I could give this place more than five stars, I would. I only wish they had specialities like neurology in house so I wouldn’t have to ever go anywhere else! Thank you, Crystal Falls!
I just need to give credit to this animal hospital. My 4 pound pup had an allergic reaction late at night and we rushed in. They were so kind and professional and knew immediately what to do. We were in there for a couple of hours monitoring his response. From the room, I could hear them working with other pets and just the whole energy and demeanor of the staff was a place you could tell that they enjoy taking care of these animals. There were no surprises on cost and they gave clear discharge instructions. Thank you for taking such good care of little Archie, and all the other animals!
I used to go to San Gabriel Vet Clinic, and after they shut down, I was making so many calls for a spay & neuter. They have amazing prices compared to other clinics around. Affordable vet vaccines. Not to mention they have taken amazing care of my boy Bruno. After him having a few complications after being fixed, they got us into the vet in 20 minutes. They call to check up on him and have made this process so smoothly for us. Each vet, vet tech, or receptionist is beyond. Thank you for bringing an amazing affordable vet clinic to the area and keeping our babies happy!
