Corrections policy
Found an error? Tell us. Here is what we do with reports.
Last reviewed: · platform default
We correct errors. If you find one in an article on this site, we want to know.
How to report a correction
Email the contact address listed on our Contact page. Include the article URL, the specific claim you believe is wrong, and — if you have it — the source that shows what is correct. We read every report.
How we publish corrections
- A note is added to the top or bottom of the article explaining what was changed.
- The note timestamps when the correction was made.
- The note describes what the article originally said and what the corrected version says.
- Significant corrections (factual errors that change the meaning of the story) get a more prominent note than minor edits (typos, formatting).
What we don’t do
We do not silently rewrite articles to hide errors. We do not delete reader-visible history. We do not unpublish articles to make corrections disappear. If something is wrong, we say so, on the article.
