my ball python was actively dying in my arms when i came to this clinic. the CSRs and tech were incredibly kind and patient with me. the reason i’m giving this place a 1 star review is because of the actions and attitude of Dr. Miller. when she entered the room, she didn’t introduce herself or say anything compassionate. when she did finally say something to me, it was in a blaming tone as if she was insinuating that my snakes condition was my fault. i work in vet med and i get that we see the worst of the worst when it comes to patient conditions, but a huge part of working in the vet med industry is not letting your personal judgement cloud the care. vet med is not just working with animals, you have to be able to deal with the parents too. and as i was sitting there sobbing and mourning the loss of my pet, she couldn’t even say sorry— all i got from her was judgement and blame. i was also not informed that they would be doing the euthanasia in the treatment area as opposed to in the room with me. i asked the tech what the process was and she only explained the first part. no one told me that i wouldn’t get to hold my baby as she passed. after googling methods of euthanasia for snakes, i understand it would’ve been more traumatising for me to witness but i wish that had been conveyed to me during the appointment.
