UPDATE Despite being a longtime customer and Ruby fan, that changed after our Easter visit. Our family made reservations for their Easter brunch, and while the atmosphere, service, and live music were all enjoyable, the food was a major letdown. What made it more frustrating was how far the actual meal fell from what was advertised on their website as *“a curated culinary experience.”* The description promised a sophisticated menu with plated entrées and decadent self-service stations, including a savory baked vegetable frittata served with thick-cut bacon, Ruby’s signature homemade biscuits, roasted potatoes, and smoked turkey. In reality, the food was not even remotely close to that description—both in quality and presentation. It honestly felt like a bait-and-switch tactic. Honestly, even a complimentary breakfast at a Hampton Inn & Suites would have been better. Everything was served lukewarm on plastic plates with disposable utensils, which only added to the sense that the experience didn’t match the price or expectations. At $35 per person—before even factoring in drinks that pushed the total higher—the pricing felt completely unjustified for what was served. Our entire table sat there in stunned disbelief, questioning how this experience could possibly warrant that cost. Unfortunately, what should have been a special holiday meal ended up feeling like an overpriced and frustrating experience. It will take some time before we consider returning. We've been enjoying the Ruby Bar since they first opened. It's a rare slice of heaven in Round Rock. The hotel and bar are tucked away in a mostly residential neighborhood and sit right on Brushy Creek. The bar is a restored MCM house with a nice deck hanging over the creek. The service has always been first-rate, and the cocktails and food are exceptional. Unfortunately, when we're in a Texas heat wave it's difficult to enjoy the unique and beautiful outdoor spaces. I hope they invest in high-quality umbrellas and fans for the back deck, which is my favorite spot to relax and enjoy the view.

40 from neighborsCame for Easter brunch. Food, music, and atmosphere were nice. I would recommend based on just those factors. The staff was disorganized and weren't really communicating w guests. They knew all week there was a chance of light rain. No canopies or alternate seating was providing, just crammed everyone inside, leaving many having to stand or eat in awkward places. Made us stand in the rain until exactly 1PM for our service, no sign on the door directing where to wait. We started to walk in a side door and were told by staff that they didn't open until 1PM, but no other communication about where to form a line or wait. We were some of the first to receive our entrees, and while they were tasty, were served cold. Kinda sad to make a special reservation and see the staff sort of treating the event like an afterthought, like it was our issue that it was raining instead of owning the event and having an alternate plan. Probably won't be back, which is sad bc I really wanted to give this place 5 stars :/
We always like the vibe at the Ruby, and the food is usually excellent, but for Easter Brunch we felt we were misrepresented by what they were offering on the fixed menu .The bacon was thin greasy and lukewarm. Our potatoes were cold . This was served on a plastic plate with plastic silverware , not what you expect for an Easter Brunch . Coffee was not included and we never received an itemized ticket for our drinks , since they were on a separate.ticket. We will be taking a big break from the Roby.. We spent about $50 per person .
Updating my review, we like having book club here so much! The only thing that beats it is someone hosting in their home, but we're a bunch of mostly moms and hosting can be hard. There are enough nooks for us to find a place to talk without noise if it's a busy night for the bar. My favorite drink is the Strawberry Fields. It's so refreshing at any time of year. 2025: We had book club on the patio here and it was amazing!! We had the perfect temperature as it got dark and we had good cocktails and food from the bar. I had the ruby old fashioned and it was so good, with the big cube of ice so it melts slowly, mmmm!! I also had the fig arugula prosciutto flatbread and it was cooked well, but I don't know what was missing but something felt missing to really put it over the edge. We'll be back next month! Very nice bar! I'm glad we have one of these in Round Rock.
Great views from the back balcony over Brushy Creek. Inside is a cool speakeasy library vibe. Service from JC was amazing and fun. Drinks are beautiful and delicious. We came near closing time and got a sandwich served with a side of chips (from a bag). The sandwich was just OK. I ate it. Would definitely come again for drinks and vibes. A great date spot.
The atmosphere, food and service were perfect! We'll be back!
Perfect place for a drink with great wifi for "telecommuting"
Sat there for a few minutes and nobody came to see if we wanted something. Strange because it appeared everyone else in the bar had been served so it wasn't like they were busy. The food options are okay. We got up and left without anyone acknowledging we were there.
Amazing staffed served our group all night. We were there from 6:30-9:00. This was such an awesome dinner location, hanging out on the patio was so relaxing and the food was amazing. Thank you for the fantastic evening!
