Delicious country diner with an extensive menu of entres, sides, and especially pies. They have a couple dining rooms with many tables. We enjoyed the Elvis pie, the sweet baked potato, and the Texas toast. It's a twin to the restaurant in Taylor. The location is on Hutto's main historic street, adjacent to several other businesses worth visiting. There is free parking on surrounding streets.

Just look for the big ol'Hereford bull atop the building above the entrance of this wonderful little café in downtown Hutto, and you'll know you're at the right place to sit back and enjoy a munch or two. Food is good, atmosphere is rustic enough for my liking, and the staff is helpful, informative, and the kind of friendly that takes me back to small town Texas of when I was a kid. The sweet tea and pies are to die for. The food is good. * If I had to nitpick, I would have to say that the pot pie could use a little less of the borderline that is between chicken soup and chicken & dumplings taste, and needed more of a traditional pot pie taste, but, I did like the hefty amounts shredded chicken in it...and the chicken fried steak was missing a bit more of it's needed seasoning in the crust, but, had a good size to it and was cooked right. It does come with the basic white gravy that many joints serve with their CFS plates, but still, as I stated, it is still good.* Now moving on to the pies...Lordy me, I wanted to go find the lady that took her time putting that much love into something, and go hug her neck! Such amazing flavors, and a smell to each pie that would make you want to go back and question your very own grandma's cookin! Very, very good indeed. I do recommend this little slice of nostalgia to anyone looking for a good lunch, but dont rush or you'll miss out on what this café has to offer, that ol'feelin of when life was less hectic and more laid back, and a smiling face to boot!

Good menu, pies, and people are awesome! Our only feedback is over time, restaurant looks like it needs a deep clean. Floors in bathrooms need biggest attention. Please do not take negatively, this is an observation - and people should go there to eat. These things happen in the restaurant business, we used to run them, so know this well. Again, awesome place, people work hard, service is great along with the food !

Horribly understaffed. I was in the restaurant for 1 hour before our dinner was served. Entrees were decent, but nothing exceptional. Restaurant was cramped with tables close together. That said, pies were top notch with a great selection.

I asked for gf options but everything is cooked in the same Grease and not very accommodating. I wish restaurants would at least try. Waiter seemed annoyed by me asking about it as well. Won’t be back just merely bc of him. I can’t help I can’t eat anything. It’s stressful enough.
