Our Medical Assistants perform a variety of duties, both clerical and assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a licensed medical and or licensed nursing professional. A Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant may look like this: - Obtain and document patient history, patient communication, and clinical treatment accurately and appropriately - Obtain and measure vital signs and document information on patients’ charts - and maintain examination/treatment rooms, including cleaning and sterilizing instruments, and keeping inventory of medical supplies and materials - Perform routine diagnostic and laboratory tests - And administer medications as ordered by licensed medical and/or licensed nursing staff - Explain treatment procedures to patients under the direction of licensed medical and/or licensed nursing staff We ask our Medical Assistant to possess a minimum of: - High school diploma or GED and - Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross The following experience/skills are preferred: - Certification as a Medical Assistant received from a certifying body recognized by Lone Star Circle of Care in its reasonable discretion - Prior professional experience as a Medical Assistant - Previous work using electronic medical records (EMR) - Bilingual English/Spanish skills Key Success Factors Some key factors that will make an individual successful in this role: - The ability to problem solve - Organizational skills - Attention to detail - Team player personality - Time management Benefits LSCC offers a competitive benefits package, including: - Competitive salary; - Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance; - LSCC paid Life insurance; - LSCC paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability insurance; - Paid Time Off; and - 403b Employee Retirement Plan Create a Job Alert Interested in building your career at Lone Star Circle of Care?
