What started as an enjoyable experience at one of my go-to spots when visiting Round Rock ended disappointingly when we went to pay our tabs. We realized they had charged us $40 for each of the old fashions we ordered, rather than the $15 advertised on the online menu. When we brought up this discrepancy to the bartender, Zach Smith, he pointed out that all old fashions were served as doubles by default. I asked him to point out where that is mentioned on the online menu that we accessed through the QR code on the table (it’s not). He pointed out that the online menu is their “corporate” menu and that the notice is listed on their physical menu. I pointed out that there were no physical menus available in the booths we were sitting at, to which he responded “they usually are”. Expecting to pay around $150 total and facing a $300+ bill between our two parties, I asked for the infraction to be corrected and our money be refunded due to the notice not being listed on the menus we were given. Our request was not honored and we left The Brass Tap with a sour taste in our mouth.
