I would not recommend signing up for HOTWORX. The main reason I joined was for the advertised 24/7 access, since I work standard hours but commute downtown in Austin. That flexibility was the entire selling point for me. Unfortunately, there was an incident where a car ran into the building, and the sauna was shut down for an extended period during repairs. During that time, the location was not open at hours that worked with my schedule—meaning I couldn’t use my membership at all. I reached out respectfully and asked for a refund for that month since I had zero access to what I was paying for. I was told they “needed the money to cover damages,” which makes no sense. Situations like that should be handled through insurance, not passed onto paying members. I even followed up via email referencing the agreement I signed, which clearly states 24/7 access. Despite pointing out that they were not upholding their end of the contract, they still refused to issue any refund or credit. On top of that, their “guest privileges” are very misleading and not nearly as flexible as they advertise. The only positive I can give is that most of the staff (aside from management/ownership) are very kind and helpful—but unfortunately that doesn’t make up for poor policies and lack of accountability. Overall, extremely disappointing experience. DO NOT SIGN UP.
