Buying a house in Durango Farms I haven't been here a year they still haven't addressed any of the problems we have submitted. They always come up with an excuse. When you are doing your walk through bring your own inspector.

I purchased a home in December of 2021 and it has been nothing but issues from the beginning. I wish I had used my intuition to back out of the sale and lose my $5,000 deposit. From the customer experience and my sales rep completely ignoring me and doing the bare minimum to the manager who was supposed to be trusted to take care of my home completely ignoring the progress, resulting in issue after issue being exposed conveniently after the two year mark. I shouldn’t be having to fix so many issues on a newer home and have already been out thousands to fix the poor drainage in the exterior. To start, when I moved in my AC and sprinkler system wasn’t working or properly connected. I’m lucky it wasn’t the middle of summer, but I was gaslit the entire process and even getting them to come fix those things after I moved in was pulling teeth. One of the sprinkler system tree soakers wasn’t even installed, resulting in my tree dying and having to fight them to replace it. They use the cheapest materials possible and hide it under the disguise of “smart home” and “eco.” My entire house also had Sheetrock done lazily and messily, so I’m going to have to spend so much money getting it repaired where it’s starting to fail. There was paint splatter all over the flooring where they didn’t cover and I still am finding paint specs to pick off the floor. When I would point out issues during the process they would tell me “this is just how it is” but I can tell you it’s not. They just don’t want to do it. Recently I also had a small leak that is inside my wall under a window that had been there since the beginning due to the continuous sheet rock issue, but they completely ignore me. Dealing with their warranty department is even worse. I could go on and on, but there isn’t enough characters in this review. I will never, ever recommend or buy another Meritage home ever again.

Much agreed with the past one star reviews. Poor quality of the homes construction and i did mention the issues to the construction company manager when we did the first walk through and some issues were addressed and “fixed” seeing more and more of the homes construction is very displeasing.

I think it’s funny that if you look at the history of some of the 5 star reviews you’ll notice that some don’t live here, don’t live in Texas, or leave multiple 5 star reviews for home builders, in a short time span. I live here, and this is an honest score. The insulation in these homes is a joke. I can hear my neighbors A/C unit kick on, through a fence, through the walls/windows, with horrible hearing (from 6 deployments).

absolute garbage quality builder. We have a 2021 built home in Morning Star that is developing cracks through out home where foundation meets brick and a sinked in lintel over garage due to lack of expansion joints. The grout work was done poorly and even after two attempts to fix it, the grout is full of pits and chipping. Cornices where walls meet ceiling was done inadequately which developed gaps in less than a 3 months. As per construction manager and builder, these are not covered under warranty because they developed after 1 year mark and we didn't report before 1year. Beware what you sign up for. This is a builder that will not take any responsibility for their poor quality work, nor do they do repairs and ditch you the minute they cash in the check.

We purchased a Meritage home in Durango Farm in Hutto TX. We were told it would be ready by March, we moved in the beginning of July. Everything about this home is sub par. Nails are popping, doors were cut and not sanded, caulking is sloppy, and to get anything fixed requires an act of Congress.
