44 from neighborsI’m so grateful to have found this church! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and surrounded by such a friendly and uplifting community. The sermons are inspiring, relevant, and always leave me feeling encouraged and closer to God. The worship team does a beautiful job, and there are so many opportunities to get involved, from youth programs to community outreach. This church truly feels like a family, and I love being a part of it!
Another reviewer posted similar experiences. I have been a Christian my entire life and have visited various denominations in my lifetime. Some are more traditional, some more charismatic. Of course when you visit something “different” it’s normal to feel a bit uncomfortable. That’s why I always compare my experience against the one tried & true “measure” of truth — the Word. The praise& worship was fine, full of energy and joy. Lots of clapping, which reminded me of my childhood church which I loved. I found it odd that the leader is called the Prophet and his wife, the Prophetess, and that they sit in designated significantly fancier chairs to the front side with better lighting over that area. I found it odd that I had to sign a waiver not to record anything (but wasn’t planning to so I signed it). However, I was pretty quickly turned off at the beginning of the teaching. Bits of what the “Prophet” said almost right away began to bother me on what I view to be true doctrinal teaching. I couldn’t place my finger on what specifically. Then it became more apparent. Prosperity gospel. I’ve never heard the term “millionaire” used so much in one sermon. In the context that ‘we too are millionaires’ according to God’s “word”. Then he actually contradicted the very passage he had just read earlier in the sermon (but everyone had moved onto a verse in the New Testament so I guess nobody but me went back to verify his teaching.) At that point I was done but it went on another hour and a half. Total service was three hours. Probably 45 mins of that was the offering portion where he said they “only got $500 last week and that isn’t going to cover the concrete pour at the new facility”. They asked who was special enough to give a special offering. Regular attendees went up for their “annointing of oil” where he pushed on their foreheads trying to get them to collapse (which several did). Women were covered in golden fabric (???). Not sure for modesty or what. Then there were two more levels of offerings. I couldn’t even look up at that point. I looked down and just prayed for God’s truth and deliverance for those who were being deceived. Afterwards I tried to leave but was ushered up to meet the Prophet. When he grabbed my hand to shake it he tried to pull me towards him (subtle yet firm). He tried twice. The second time I looked him in the eyes as he talked to me, and he asked when he would see me again. I told him “I have a church home in Round Rock” as I stared him down. He immediately released his gaze and my hand and moved to the next person. He was done with me - I think he knew I was too in tune with what’s going on there to become another follower & victim.
A year ago, I was going through depression & Dr. Steve Mbua called me out of the blue to see how I was doing. I told him, “This world is a horrible place & I don’t want to be here any more.” So he asked me to open my bible & read John 16. As I was reading, he broke down & explained each scripture one, by one just like he does during Wednesday service. This was on a Saturday around noon & I could tell by the background noise that he was having lunch with his family, but yet he stayed on the phone with me for over an hour, reading & praying for me. This is what Christ Image International Church is all about. We are not just a church, we are a family. Dr. Steve Mbua & his wife, Lydienne are the most kind & loving people I have ever met. They have our best interest at heart. I am forever grateful that I have found a church where you can feel God’s presence as soon as you walk in, is lead by the Holy Spirit & has amazing leaders who truly care about their members.
I had a deeply troubling experience at this church. My family and I were treated poorly, and we witnessed numerous unscriptural practices. The pastor, known as Prophet Mbau, and his wife demand to be called "Papa" and "Momma," which goes against biblical teachings (Matthew 23:9: "And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven"). During services, the pastor frequently checks his Cash App to monitor tithes and offerings, which feels inappropriate and exploitative. In one service, he even begged the congregation to buy him a septic tank for his birthday, needing thousands of dollars more. This behavior is a stark contrast to the biblical principle of giving freely without coercion (2 Corinthians 9:7: "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver"). The pastor claims to be a prophet, asserting that God speaks through him directly. He manipulates people into building the church with their own money and time, often working full-time without pay. When these same people are in need, he offers no financial help. For example, my mother needed a new car after a difficult divorce, and he simply said he'd pray for her, despite her dedication as a project manager and then proceeded to use her car for his needs. Moreover, the pastor encourages congregants to neglect their families in favor of serving the church. When I was involved in a legal battle, my mother came to support me, but he pressured her to return to the church, dismissing my needs because I wasn’t part of that church anymore. (1 Timothy 5:8: "But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever"). These are clear signs of a cult-like environment. This church fosters dependency, manipulation, and neglect of personal and familial responsibilities in the name of faith. Please be cautious and think twice before becoming involved with this organization. Protect your faith, your family, and your finances by seeking a church that aligns with biblical principles and practices genuine love and support.
Sitting outside a young lady invited me to come worship with them her spirit was so welcoming until I so look forward for the experience at Christ image she really showed his image thank you so much
God is in Christ Image International Church (CIIC). Miracles, signs and wonders still happen here as in the days of the Acts of the Apostles. I invite you to come and worship with us this Sunday. You will experience the presence of God and receive your own miracle!!
I visited during a special revival service during Wednesday. Lovely international congregation! I came at night where their barn has signs on the road, and the building doors slide open. You can hear their exciting music outside and the people are really friendly! This is a hand raising, hand clapping and shouting happy church. You are welcome to sit in the front where there is plenty of seats. Their service is also in Spanish. There is no personal recordings, but you can catch the fullness of the mission online. They are involved in the community giving donations. They have a part of service where testimonies are shared. The leadership are very gifted, talented and anointed.
CIIC is where the Bible comes to life!
Visited twice as a guest of kameesha McBride what a blessing great service
