At its Oct. 13 meeting, the Pflugerville City Council approved four items that had been pulled from the consent agenda for discussion. Two of them carried listed dollar amounts: a $352,582 supplemental agreement with Freese and Nichols for additional construction phase services on the Secondary Colorado River Raw Water Line Project, and a $596,200 agreement with Tetra Tech for engineering services associated with the Schultz Lane Safety Improvements Project.
Road and utility agreements also moved ahead
The other two approvals dealt with transportation and utility work. Council approved an interlocal agreement with Williamson County for the Red Bud Lane Construction Project from north of Cheyenne Valley Drive to Gattis School Road, and approved an agreement with Spectrum Gulf Coast, LLC, for use of the proposed utility duct bank being constructed as part of the Historic Colored Addition Subdivision infrastructure improvements project.
Residents raised a range of concerns during public comment
During public comment, residents raised concerns about recreation center fees, landscaping and irrigation problems in the Highland Park neighborhood, water usage restrictions and city debt, and a denied downtown business proposal. Commenters also objected to proposed Amazon drone delivery, asked for an independent review of city operations, and opposed a possible animal shelter site next to Lake Pflugerville.
The meeting also included three October proclamations
The presentation portion of the meeting included proclamations marking October 2026 as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Oct. 24, 2026, as World Polio Day, and Oct. 21, 2026, as Unplug Texas Day in Pflugerville.
