01What does your business do, the way you would say it to a neighbor?

We're a hair salon in Hutto, Texas. We do women's haircuts, styling, hair color, highlights, balayage, and other color services. We focus on giving clients personalized service and helping them get a cut and color that looks great and works for their everyday life.

02How did the business start?

Katie has been doing hair her entire adult life. Traditional college was never really her path. She always loved hair, enjoyed working with people, and knew early on that she wanted to build a career around it. What started as something she genuinely loved doing grew into years of experience behind the chair and eventually into GAGA Salon, where she could create the kind of personal salon experience she wanted for her clients.

03What do people come to you for that they cannot get anywhere else nearby?

People come to GAGA Salon for personalized, one-on-one attention from an experienced stylist, especially for custom hair color, balayage, highlights, and precision cuts. We take the time to understand what each client actually wants instead of rushing them through an appointment.

04What should someone know before they call you?

The biggest thing to know is that hair color isn't one-size-fits-all. If you're looking for balayage, highlights, a major color change, or color correction, what's possible and how long it takes depends on your current hair, its condition, and your color history. We'd rather set realistic expectations upfront and protect the health of your hair than promise a result that shouldn't be done in one appointment.

05What is the question you get asked most, and how do you answer it?

"How much will my hair cost?"

It really depends on your hair and what you want done. Hair length, thickness, your current color, previous color treatments, and the result you're trying to achieve can all affect the service and price. If you're considering highlights, balayage, or a bigger color change, we can talk through what you have now and what you're trying to achieve before your appointment.

"Can you get my hair to this color in one appointment?"

The majority of the time, but not always. If you're making a major color change or have previously colored hair, it may take more than one appointment to get there while keeping your hair healthy. We'll be upfront about what's realistically achievable and the best way to get you there.

06What do you love about this place?

We love being in Hutto because it still has that smaller, close-knit community feel while being so close to Round Rock and Austin. It's a great place for families, and we love getting to know clients who live right here in the community and seeing the same faces come back over the years. Hutto has grown a lot, but it still feels personal, and that fits the kind of salon we want GAGA to be.

07Anything else people should know?

One thing we're especially proud of is the relationships we've built with our clients over the years. Katie has spent her entire adult life doing hair, and many clients continue coming back because they know they'll get personal attention from someone who genuinely cares about their hair. Clients regularly visit GAGA Salon from as far as Houston and College Station. At GAGA Salon, we want to keep that one-on-one experience at the heart of what we do.

08Which other local businesses do you love?

Amazing Animal Adventures Exotic Pet Shop: Such a fun local place, especially for families and anyone who loves animals. They have a really unique selection of exotic pets and supplies, and it's the kind of small business that makes the area more interesting.

South Meadows Recovery: We appreciate the work they do helping people and families in the North Austin and Williamson County area who are dealing with addiction and working toward recovery.

Jack Allen's Kitchen: One of our favorite places for a good meal with family. We love that they're local to the Austin area and have built their menu and atmosphere around Texas food and community.
