Walburg German Restaurant

I would not recommend this place. Our experience with this resturante is not what we had expected as we set out for a fun day. I was with my parents who are in their 80's and they have come to this establishment for their buffet often. They drive over an hour to get there. I was visiting from out of town and they wanted me to try one of their favorite German resturants. My 81 yr old dad is a Vet and served in Germany, and has a love for German food. The wait to be seated was longer than usual, but not an issue. We sat for a longer than usual time before our drink order was taken, and for drinks to be delivered, not an issue. We understand that at times, under staff lunch times can be a longer wait and we were out for the day to ha e fun. We arrived at 11:45 and our food was delivered at 1:24. Our waitress Maddie, was aggressive and rude, calling my 81 yr mother a lier setting the mood for an uncomfortable experience. My mother drinks water with lemon everyday, never tea. Maddie brought her tea and mother asked for her water, Maddie argued with my mother stating "that is not what you ordered". She brought the water and we moved forward. When the food arrived, over an hour after ordering, my dad's order was wrong. He spoke about the weierschnnizel the whole hour drive. He always gets their weiershnnizel; however, he was given Jeagerschnnizel. He said his order wrong, and Maddie began to speak at him aggressively, telling him he was lying and that was what he ordered. He said no, he does not order that one, Maddie stated "thats is what you ordered, and your wrong, and it started with you" (looking at my 81 yr old mother) "you ordered tea not water!" When I spoke up to tell her that was wrong, she began to tell us to stop abusing her and she will not tolerate our being aggressive with her. My dad took his meal as was and we were stunned. The couple next to us commented how aggressive she was and were stunned at her reaction. I went to the restroom, as I came out another waitress was walking by and I ask what our waitress name was, she said Maddie, I said thank you and went and sat down. My mom wanted a piece of their black forest cake, Maddie came to the table and we order the cake. I said thank-you Maddie and then she began yelling and saying "you could have asked me!" She refused to get the cake and said we had to leave. We Paid and left. My parents say they will never be back and will now go to their other favorite place in Fredicksburge. The food was ok, but the service was just unacceptable. I would recommend going to Fredicksburge for German food, you will also get a wonderful community to shop and walk through. This resturante is in small town, maybe that is how they treat their older adults in this town. Longer than usual wait, expensiveve, but more weighty is the bad service. Two thumbs down.
