Serenity Senior Living

Serenity Senior Living is a boutique assisted living home in Pflugerville, Texas, where residents are treated like family. It is clean, calm, and small by design, so care stays personal. On a given afternoon you might find a live piano concert in the courtyard, residents clapping along to show tunes with mocktails in hand.

I moved my mom to Serenity in July 2023 from a large box facility with a client to staff ratio of 30 to 2. That did not work for my mom who was living with Alzheimers Disease. And Serenity got 100x better when the new owners took charge. There is a 10x2 (or more) ratio of clients to staff. The building is a ranch style HOME. Not a box facility trying to feel like home. Mom was able to help with folding clothes, setting the table, etc. Things she would do at home. That made her feel like she was in her home. Serenity provided healthy meals, activities, live music, therapy dogs and lots of companionship. She loved sitting outside in the large backyard. Mom was always happy here at Serenity. I was always happy to hang out with my mom and her roommates. When she passed, the whole staff mourned her passing. The staff and owners had become like extra family members. The best decision I ever made was moving Mom to Serenity Senior Living. This is a home for seniors who cannot live on their own anymore, or who want some companions to live with during their golden years. Check them out. I think you will see a big difference between this home and a large facility.

Popped in to see my daughter and walked into a live courtyard concert of piano and musical show tunes.  Residents were clapping, smiling, and enjoying specialty mocktails. It was such a warm, community feel. If this is everyday life here, I can only hope I’m lucky enough to find a place like this when I need it.

As a hospice LMSW, it is refreshing to visit a place where my patients are loved and and treated like family. The staff is focused on creating the highest quality of life for my patients, rather than minimum care standards.

Serenity understands my mother and are always finding ways for her to have a fulfilled life. My mother lost my dad in 2016. A year later the day after my mom's heart attack, she lost her mother, and then three months later lost her sister. When my mom had her paralyzing stroke January 2020 as the world was closing down because of the pandemic, I moved her into an assisted living community that was too big and left her feeling un-cared for. I received a recommendation about Serenity and decided to look into this community which is smaller and feels like home and is on over 1-acre of land. My mother likes it there because she enjoys the food and her room and because it feels like a home instead of a facility. The new management and team members have transformed this home-community where they have learned about all their residents and their families. They understand my demanding work schedule but keep me connected through calls, texts, emails, sending me photos and videos, etc. They want my mom to get out of her room - which she hates so they found a company that does live concerts with your own playlist. OMG! I literally cried when I walked through that door - because it was a live band there and my mom got to be the center of attention and they played all her favorite songs. We sang, we all danced around her. Catch this - my mom even stayed out of her room after the concert and started painting in the family room. They try there best to figure out what works for each resident and they figure it out. As my mom's sole caretaker - just typing this makes me cry because I want to do right by my parents that have always done so much for me. These kinds of methods of "seeing" your loved one by Serenity encourages me to know that each day they continue to figure out ways to make her not just in their community but apart of their community. Hearts and Hugs!

My mom has been at Serenity now for just about a month. Everyone is super kind, friendly, and efficient. She is well-fed, kept clean, and even with her mobility issues, they do their best to get her up and out of bed most days. The facility is SUPER clean, the owners are constantly making upgrades, even in just the short time we've been there, and it always smells good. The rooms are spacious, and they often have some activities or visitors come play music or bring service dogs. I've been fortunate to sit there most mornings, bring my computer, and work from there while visiting my mom, so they also allow that. Also, the convenience of them being just 15-20 minutes from my house helps a ton as well! I feel a ton better knowing that my mom is in good hands and her needs are being met. I know looking for a facility for a parent is a taxing task. I would highly recommend checking Serenity out. They quickly went to #1 on my list when I was visiting, interviewing staff, and reviewing other facilities.
