I’ve worked with other independent care companies in the past and I have to say the compassion, dedication, reliability, and excellence that Marlena pours into her staff as well as her clients is not only rare, but unmatched. Marlena and her team of ladies were a God send for my family. As my father was becoming more and more dependent on his daily care, I was becoming more and more worried that I was not going to be able to find the right person or persons to care for him. How do you find people that you can trust with what is most precious to you? I put it out into the Universe that I would get the right people. A neighbor recommended Evening Star Care LLC. and that they had cared for her mother and was very pleased with their service. I called Marlena and she and Dee met with me, my husband, and my father the very next day. Marlena and Dee were professional, personable and sympathetic to my father's needs. Marlena said she would be happy to take my father on as a client. At first, they were with him during the day for about 8 hours. Gradually over the next 11 months, that time expanded as my father’s needs increased, to the point that they were there 24 hours a day. Marlena and her team were nurturing, dependable, and went above and beyond what was required of them. They advocated for my father during his time in hospice care. They never left his side. Dee surprised our family on Thanksgiving by setting the formal dining room table for us to eat and had my father dressed in his regular clothes. My father and my family enjoyed that day so much! On the afternoon that my father passed, Marlena, Dee and the entire team came to the house and helped prepare him for the funeral home to take him. They stayed and comforted my entire family for as long as needed. Marlena still checks in with me from time to time just to see how the family is doing. These wonderful ladies have become part of our extended family. I cannot recommend Evening Star Care LLC, Marlena, Dee, and the team enough. Five stars doesn't come close, on a scale from 1-10 they are a 15. They were absolute angels sent to us when we needed them most.
This is one of the best companies I have ever worked for in my entire life. The owner Marlena Mills is literally a godsend. She is such a great friend. A great caretaker, a great all around person. If you want someone to care for your family, the right way. This is the company that you want to employ. The care team is made up of the most wonderful women with the biggest of hearts they take the utmost care of your loved ones right down the tiniest detail. They truly are the best out there and I don't say that lightly. If anybody truly cares at Evening Star Care, they truly care from start to finish all the in between. Its so genuine and loving i cant express how much i love being apart of a team and company that truly has put people first. Marlena goes the extra mile to teach and coach/ train in such a way that not only the carestaff are learning but also family members who aren't well versed and or trained medically. Everything this team does is done with careful consideration of family imput,as well as the patients. Its a true family! Im so proud of everyone and thankful of everyone who has been a part of bringing this company to life!
Evening Star was an answer to our prayers. My very independent 97 year old mother felt safe, respected and totally trusted Marlina and her care givers. My mother's wish was to live in her home to very end. for the last 2 years of her life she needed help with activities of daily living, getting to doctors appointments and getting groceries. Evening Star met our needs and my mother looked forward to their visits. On the night of her passing, Marlina and her mother came over to comfort my brother and me. A true act of kindness that went above and beyond. we were blessed!
Marlena Mills is an amazing woman who has a loving heart for the elderly. She has been working with my 91 yr old father for almost 6 mos now. She is always happy and fills the house with joy. Her care for my father is with the utmost respect. She helps with his laundry, meals, cleaning of the house and as a companion. It is so comforting to me to have her checking in on him especially since I am an hour away. Thank you Marlena; you are amazing!
Marlene and her staff were beyond helpful when we hired them towards the end of my husband's life. I wish we had known about her as we had previous experiences with other care companies and nothing as good as Evening Star.I also used Evening Star after my neck surgery in January. I used them 24hrs a day and they were very professional although they made me feel like family.. I would highly recommend their help
