Round Rock ISD Superintendent Hafedh Azaiez will continue leading the district through at least 2029, following a Jan. 29 board vote to extend his contract.

Compensation update

Along with the contract extension, trustees approved a 1% increase to Azaiez’s base salary of $350,000. He also received a bonus of $18,520. The updated contract reflecting these terms will be finalized in the coming weeks.

Superintendent’s statement

“It really takes the whole team to make our district strong, and all of us working together is what makes Round Rock ISD a destination district,” Azaiez said in a district release. “I am so thankful to the board and to our campus staff and administration for the work they do every day. I’m excited at the chance to continue leading our district.”

Contract history

Azaiez was first hired by Round Rock ISD in 2021 and has had his contract extended four times since then.

Updated August 23, 2026 to reflect substantive changes.
