Pick a pumpkin from a pool in Leander, take the costumes to downtown Taylor, or follow a museum guide through Georgetown’s ghost stories. Williamson County’s October calendar has outings for a morning with the kids and plans that start after bedtime. Choose the kind of day you want below, with admission catches alongside the fun.
Pumpkins and time outside
- Sweet Eats Fall Festival | Georgetown A farm day with a corn maze, pig races, pony rides and a petting zoo. Daily through Nov. 8 at Sweet Eats Adventure Farm, 14400 E. State Highway 29. October hours: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday; Halloween closes at 6 p.m. Pumpkin-patch-only entry is free weekdays in October and $5 online or $10 at the gate on weekends. Farm activities require general admission, priced by date; pumpkins cost extra.
- Texas Pumpkin Fest | Leander Pumpkins, live wrestling and magic shows, plus a 135-foot slide included with admission. Oct. 10 through Nov. 1 on Saturdays and Sundays, plus Oct. 12 and 30, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at VFW Post 10427, 8760 FM 2243. Admission is $15 per person with free parking; some attractions cost extra.
- Floating Pumpkin Patch | Leander Bring a swimsuit and towel: kids pick a pumpkin from the pool, then paint and decorate it at the craft tables. Oct. 17, 10 a.m. to noon, at Robin Bledsoe Pool, 601 S. Bagdad Road. Entry is $8 per participant; register through Leander Parks and Recreation.
- Hairy Man Festival | Brushy Creek Halloween crafts, carnival games, live music and a costume contest fill Cat Hollow Park, 8320 O’Connor Drive, on Oct. 17 from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free, with a suggested donation of two nonperishable food items or $2 per person for the Round Rock Serving Center. The costume contest is at 2 p.m.; the Hairiest Man Contest follows at 4:30 p.m.
- Halloween Hustle | Cedar Park Wear a costume for a run or walk at Lakeline Park, 1510 Alexis Drive, on Oct. 25. The kids’ dash starts at 8:45 a.m., followed by the 5K and one-mile events at 9 a.m. Through Oct. 24, the longer distances cost $20 for adults or $15 for ages 18 and younger; the kids’ dash is $10 for ages 10 and younger. Shirts cost extra, and dogs and strollers are welcome.
Costumes and candy with the kids
- Tricks and Treats Spooktacular | Leander Trick-or-treating, food trucks and a fun zone at Devine Lake Park, 1807 Waterfall Ave. Oct. 24, 6 to 9 p.m. Entry is free, registration is unnecessary, and families can arrive anytime during the event.
Kalahari Spooktacular | Round Rock A trick-or-treat trail, bounce houses and a DJ dance party at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions, 3001 Kalahari Blvd. Oct. 24, 5 to 9 p.m. Non-resort guests need a $30 parking pass per car, and some activities cost extra.- Downtown Candy Crawl | Georgetown Put the costumes on for an afternoon stroll, with candy stops at participating businesses around the downtown square. Oct. 25, 1 to 4 p.m. The event is free and runs rain or shine.
Hometown Halloween | Round Rock Trick-or-treating along Main Street comes with face painting, balloon creations, train rides and live music. Oct. 30, 3 to 7 p.m., in downtown Round Rock, with candy stops in the 100 and 200 blocks of East Main Street. Admission is free.
Halloween Spooktacular | Taylor Save Halloween evening for a stop at Heritage Square Park in downtown Taylor. The city’s Halloween Spooktacular takes place Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. Use the city’s event calendar for updates before heading over.
Ghost stories and a grown-up night out
Ghosts of the Georgetown Square | Georgetown Walk through local ghost stories with a costumed museum guide, or choose a longer ghost-hunting tour with interactive elements. Tours run Oct. 2, 3, 9, 10, 23, 24 and 30 from The Williamson Museum, 716 S. Austin Ave. The one-hour storytelling tour leaves at 7:30 p.m.; 90-minute ghost-hunting tours leave at 8 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $20, or $15 for museum members, students and veterans. Reserve a time and arrive 15 minutes early.
Waterpark After Dark | Round Rock Kalahari opens its indoor slides and pools late, with a live DJ, games, a glow party and waterpark bars. The Halloween outing is Oct. 24, 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., at 3001 Kalahari Blvd.; another 21-plus night takes place Oct. 10. Ages 21 and older need a separate event ticket, with pricing through the organizer’s booking link. Daytime guests must leave at 9 p.m., then event guests re-enter at 10 p.m.
