A new home for comfort food
Set to open in April 2026 at 2700 Red Bud Ln., Round Rock, Slim Chickens is bringing its signature crunch and down-home comfort to town. The Arkansas-born chain is known for its hand-breaded chicken tenders, saucy wings, and lineup of hearty Southern sides like mac and cheese, fried pickles, and potato salad. The new spot will open in the former Zaxby’s location, giving fried chicken fans a familiar corner to flock to again.
Fresh flavor, southern roots
Slim Chickens built its reputation on one promise, fresh, made-to-order chicken served with care. The tenders are marinated in a Southern-style buttermilk blend and breaded by hand to lock in flavor. Alongside the chicken, guests can pair signature dipping sauces, sandwiches, or even a jar dessert. It’s comfort food that feels homemade but hits fast-casual speed.
A taste of Southern hospitality
More than just a place to eat, Slim Chickens has always focused on warmth and friendliness at every table. The new Round Rock location will keep that spirit alive, serving simple, satisfying food in a relaxed setting. When it opens, expect that perfect mix of golden crisp, creamy sides, and true Southern welcome.
