A Day in the Life of a Dental Assistant may look like this: - Greet and prepare dental patients - Assist dentists during procedures and maintain instruments and supplies - Perform basic and some moderately complex dental procedures - Assisting in handing instruments and materials to dentists and keep patients’ mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devices - Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment - Prepare trays of instruments for dental procedures and instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care - Recording patients’ health histories - Taking and developing x-rays and preparing dental compounds - Taking pouring and trimming dental impressions and seating temporary restorations We ask our Dental Assistants to possess a minimum of: - High school diploma or GED - Active Texas Dental Assistant License - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross The following experience/skills are preferred: - Experience as a Dental Assistant, minimum of one (1) year - Proficiency with EMR system - Bilingual English/Spanish language skills are a definite plus Key Success Factors Some key factors that will make an individual successful in this role: - The ability to problem solve - Organizational skills - Attention to detail - Team player personality - Time management Benefits LSCC offers a competitive benefits package, including: - Competitive salary; - Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance; - LSCC paid Life insurance; - LSCC paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability insurance; - Paid Time Off; and - 403b Employee Retirement Plan Create a Job Alert Interested in building your career at Lone Star Circle of Care?
