Round Rock Scoop

We had such a fun Halloween this year! We went with a circus theme for our costumes, which turned out to be pretty fitting for our little crew. 🎪 I was a little nervous after all the rain last week, but we ended up with perfect weather! Add in Halloween falling on a Saturday and an extra hour of sleep thanks to daylight saving time ending, and we really couldn't have asked for better timing.

One of my favorite things about Halloween is seeing the whole neighborhood out and about. Kids running around in costumes, neighbors chatting, and everyone just enjoying the evening together.

And the fun hasn't stopped! Our kids have spent the past two days admiring, sorting, and reorganizing their candy like it's their full-time job. 😂

Hope your Halloween was just as sweet!

🚗 A long-awaited road finally opens in Round Rock!

Good news for west Round Rock drivers! The long-awaited Wyoming Springs Drive extension is officially open, connecting Creek Bend Boulevard to Old Settlers Boulevard.

The $29.7 million project includes a new bridge over Brushy Creek, four lanes, and paths connecting to the Brushy Creek Regional Trail. It's expected to help ease traffic on nearby roads, including Sam Bass Road. And get this: the extension has been in the city's transportation plans since 1999. That's 27 years in the making!

🌯 Tex-Mex favorites in Round Rock

Tex-Mex dishes at Burros in Round Rock
900 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Round Rock, TX 78664

If you're in the mood for Tex-Mex, Burros Tex Mex Bar & Grill on E. Palm Valley Blvd. has plenty of familiar favorites on the menu. Their Compadres Burro is a hearty burrito filled with steak, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo. They also serve stuffed poblano peppers with your choice of filling, along with plenty of other Mexican dishes. Might be one to add to your list next time you're deciding where to eat!
