Food hall, bars, pickleball + more at The Junction

Summer never feels long enough, and I’m always super sad when it’s time to send the kids back. Thankfully, ours had a fantastic first few days, which makes it a little easier. And I will admit, there is something nice about the reset that comes with a new school year. We’re back to routines, earlier bedtimes, practices on the calendar, and a little more structure to our days.

Of course, it takes a minute for everyone to find their groove again, including the traffic and bus routes. So while we’re all settling in, a big thank-you to the teachers welcoming new classes and to the bus drivers, cafeteria teams, custodians, office staff, aides, coaches, crossing guards and all the other behind-the-scenes heroes who make these first weeks work.

Here’s to a great school year for our kids and, hopefully, a little less chaos at morning drop-off soon!

🍽️ The Junction is now open in Georgetown

The Gist: The Junction officially opened Aug. 18 at 210 Blue Springs Blvd., bringing a major new dining and entertainment destination to southeast Georgetown. The lineup includes local names like Sweet Lemon Kitchen and Georgetown-based Dough-Go Pizza, along with several other food concepts, plus bars, pickleball courts, live music and plenty of outdoor space.

Why It Matters: This is one of those openings that could genuinely change where people go for a night out in Georgetown. With so much packed into one place, The Junction gives neighbors a new option for everything from dinner and drinks to date night, family outings and weekend hangouts. We’re very excited to check this one out!

🌮 Tex-Mex with a Southwest twist

Conejos Tex-Mex Cantina has opened in Round Rock, joining the Leander location we already love. Expect the same made-from-scratch Tex-Mex with fun twists, from crispy short rib quesa-birrias and brisket enchiladas to tuna tower, fajitas and street tacos. Conejos puts its own spin on the usual Tex-Mex lineup, with fresh ingredients, bold proteins and rotating specials. There’s also a full bar, weekend brunch and plenty of margaritas.

🎁 A go-to for gifts and goodies

Mays Street Boutique is a longtime Round Rock favorite packed with gifts, clothes, jewelry, home décor and plenty of fun little finds you didn’t know you needed. The family-owned shop carries everything from Kendra Scott and Consuela to Texas-made goodies and customizable Jon Hart bags, so it’s an easy stop whether you’re shopping for a birthday, a baby gift or just yourself. It has a welcoming, colorful feel and a mix of products that makes it fun to wander around and see what catches your eye.
