01What does your business do, in your own words?

I help people who feel like their body is stuck in survival mode learn how to feel safe again. Many of my clients come to me feeling anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted, in pain, unable to sleep well, or simply knowing that their body has been carrying stress for far too long.

Through gentle, body-based techniques like Spinal Flow, Spinal Energetics and Somatic Breathwork, I help clients regulate their nervous system, release stored tension and reconnect with their body's natural ability to heal.

I often describe what I do as being a personal trainer for your nervous system. We can't eliminate stress from our lives, but we can train the body to become more resilient and flexible in how it responds to stress. My goal is to help people spend less time stuck in fight, flight or freeze and have greater access to the rest, connection and healing their body is capable of.

02How did you get started? Give us the origin story.

I never imagined I would become a somatic practitioner. I spent 20 years building a successful career in finance and lending, eventually becoming an executive. From the outside, I had accomplished so much of what I thought I was supposed to, but my body was telling a very different story.

Years of high stress, two traumatic births, grief and the pressure I put on myself to keep everything together had taken a toll. I lived with chronic hip and lower back pain for about six years, and I didn't realize how much tension and overwhelm I was carrying until I began exploring nervous system and somatic healing for myself.

Experiencing Spinal Flow and Somatic Breathwork changed everything. As my nervous system began to settle, my pain improved, my body felt different, and honestly, I felt like myself again. I became fascinated by the idea that sometimes the body doesn't need us to push harder or "fix" it. Sometimes it needs enough safety and support to do what it already knows how to do.

That experience eventually gave me the courage to walk away from the career I had spent two decades building and start over. I became certified in Spinal Flow, Somatic Breathwork and later Spinal Energetics, and created Breathe Flow Heal so I could share the techniques that had made such a profound difference in my own life.

Now I get to watch other people have those moments when they realize their body isn't working against them. It has been trying to protect them. Helping someone feel safe enough to reconnect with themselves and discover what their body is capable of is what makes this work so meaningful to me.

03What would locals be surprised to learn about you or the business?

People are often surprised to learn that my practice is located inside a therapists' office. I love working alongside therapists because somatic work can beautifully complement talk therapy by addressing what we experience in the body, not just what we process through words. It can also be a gentle starting point for people who aren't ready to talk about difficult experiences or trauma. Sometimes the body is ready to begin before we have the words.

People are also surprised that this work isn't limited to my treatment room in Cedar Park. I offer virtual Somatic Breathwork and energy-based sessions, allowing clients to experience this work from the comfort of their own homes, even if they live outside the area.

04What's your favorite customer story?

It's almost impossible to choose just one because my favorite moments are often when clients realize how much they've changed in ways they weren't even expecting.

One client recently reached out after experiencing a major life stressor and told me that she couldn't believe how differently she was handling it compared with a similar experience a few years earlier. She felt calmer, more grounded, more optimistic and safer in her body. She also shared that our work had helped her reconnect with her creativity and feel more confident about what was next for her.

That meant so much to me because nervous system work isn't about creating a life where nothing stressful ever happens. Life is still going to happen. The transformation is realizing that the same circumstances no longer have to affect you in the same way.

Those are the messages that remind me why I do this work.

05What do you wish more people knew about your industry?

I wish more people understood that nervous system regulation doesn't mean being calm all the time. A healthy nervous system is flexible. You can feel stress, anger, sadness or fear, move through those emotions, and then return to a sense of safety instead of staying stuck there.

Somatic work is really about building that capacity. We spend so much time trying to think our way out of stress, but stress is also something we experience physically. Learning to listen to and work with the body can be an incredibly powerful missing piece.

You also don't have to wait until you're burned out, overwhelmed or in pain to start. Just like we exercise to support our physical health, we can practice nervous system regulation to build greater resilience for whatever life brings.

06What's next for the business this year?

I'm really excited about expanding the ways I can bring nervous system education and somatic healing into the community. We're continuing our local Journey to Awaken Your Self-Healing events, where we bring together Somatic Breathwork, Spinal Flow, Reiki and Sound Healing in one immersive experience. I love giving people the opportunity to experience several different healing modalities in a welcoming group setting.

I'm also bringing more of this work to children and families. I've been hosting a Nervous System Workshop for Kids that teaches children playful, age-appropriate breathing and somatic tools for things like big feelings, worry, focus, and sleep.

That workshop has also inspired one of my biggest projects this year: a digital course for parents and children. I'm creating it to help families bring these tools into everyday life at home, while teaching parents how their own nervous system can support their child through co-regulation.

Ultimately, I want this work to reach far beyond the walls of my treatment room, and these projects feel like the beginning of that next chapter.
