On September 4th, the Friday before 9/11, The Texas Fallen Project, Inc. will begin placing 5,000 12″ x 18″ American Flags out at Flag Plaza at Yonders Point in Old Settlers Park to honor those who have gone on before us. There will be 2,979 flags, one for each of the American lives that were lost on 9/11. The remaining 2,021 flags will represent veterans and first responders who lost their lives in the line of duty since that day.

Starting the evening of Friday, Sept. 4 through the week of 9/11, the entire community is invited to come out to view and reflect on all the lives this country has given in the name of Freedom. Residents are invited to come out, take pictures and educate children on the cost of our freedoms.

The 9/11 Flag Tribute will be in place the evening of Friday, September 4th through September 12th. Yonders Point is located at 3103 Aten Loop.

More about The Texas Fallen Project Inc.:

T exas Fallen Project, Inc. began seven years ago. A memorial wall that measured 200 linear feet in length, made its journey to over 80 locations across Texas in five short years. The wall was proudly displayed in Texas towns such as Perryton, Mission, Pecos, Wolfe City, and was welcomed across the great State of Texas! This photographic memorial wall honors over 600 Texans who have fallen in combat since September 11th, 2001. A date, like Pearl Harbor, will live in infamy in American hearts.

Texas Fallen Project, Inc. will continue to “Honor and Remember” the Fallen, along with those who continue to serve and sacrifice. With the help of kind and generous friends, donors, supporters and companies, we will continue to make this dream live on, to share this Journey to Remember. Through this commitment, it is our hope that Gold Star families will find comfort and healing.

Let us, together, raise our voices to let their families know we are grateful for the hero they raised, and that they will not be forgotten!
