Sarofim Music Series: Dr. Benjamin Whitcomb, Cellist

Experience the expressive versatility of the cello with acclaimed cellist Dr. Benjamin Whitcomb. This dynamic recital moves from the virtuosic intensity of Max Reger's Suite for Solo Cello to the vivid, atmospheric miniatures of Robert Muczynski's Gallery, culminating in Richard Strauss's sweeping Sonata for Cello and Piano, performed with SU faculty pianist, Dr. Jeanne Hourez. An accomplished recitalist, chamber musician, and author, Whitcomb brings his artistry and insight to a program that highlights the remarkable range of the cello—from intimate and introspective to bold and brilliant.
