Where do I even begin? As a military family, we’ve moved often and know firsthand how challenging it can be to find a new church to call home. From the moment we walked through the doors of Mission Church, we were welcomed with open arms and knew this would be our new church home. The love and warmth we’ve experienced here have been pure, generous, and truly authentic. This church has helped our family grow tremendously in our faith and relationship with God. Pastor Ezra and his family are absolutely wonderful. He is humble, genuine, and deeply compassionate. Each sermon reflects his heart for people and his commitment to preaching the Word of God, not what society wants to hear. Mission Church has been such a blessing, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to worship, grow, and serve.
We moved from California and searched hard for a big church like our home church. We ended up at mission and it is not a big church an we never in a million years thought we’d en up at a smaller church but Jesus has other plans from the pastor and his sermons to the people this church has been come our home and family. Now my wife and i serve extensively (another thing we never thought we’d do) and we love it it’s more than fulfilling it’s our new way of life.
I recently submitted a prayer request to this church, specifically asking them to reach out if they were committed to preaching traditional biblical moral values without compromise, boldly proclaiming the challenging teachings of Jesus Himself (even the controversial ones on sin and repentance), calling people to turn from sin, and affirming America's founding in Judeo-Christian principles, what many call American exceptionalism. I left my phone number and e-mail for them to reach out. Unfortunately, I received no response, which was disappointing. After reviewing their website more closely, it became clear that their focus leans heavily toward a 'social justice gospel,' emphasizing cultural and societal issues over a direct, unapologetic proclamation of God's Word, personal repentance, and salvation through Christ alone. This raises concerns for me, as it seems to prioritize alignment with modern progressive trends rather than faithfully upholding the full counsel of Scripture. If a church relocates (as this one appears to have done from a more challenging environment like Portland to Austin), I hope it's to boldly stand for biblical truth wherever God plants them—not to avoid confrontation with sin or to risk repeating the same compromises in a new city.
My name is Chon Montelongo. I have been coming to Mission Church for a few months now. Since I've been coming I have been Baptized and helping serve anyway I could. Since the first step I took inside the church I have been welcomed with open arms. Pastor Ezra and Kendra are two of the most beautiful people you could ever meet. Along with the most loving, humble, beautiful church. I truly know what it is now when they say the church is your family. Pastor Ezra has giving me more clarity and understanding of God's word than I have ever experienced.I feel the Holy Spirit flow through like never before. I want to take a minute and thank each and every one of my Brothers and Sisters for being so loving and inviting. May God continue to place his Grace over each and every one one of you with love, healing, strength, and wisdom in Jesus Mighty Name Amen Amen 🙏🙏🙏🙏 I truly love and Thank each and every one for being a key part of my life ❤️
Mission Church came into my life as they supported and volunteered at a school I worked at. I saw a church who cares about people and serves in the community. Our family was previously attending a church where we attended on Sundays and many other events, yet never felt known. At Mission Church the community I hoped for became real. I'm grateful for Mission Church from the community, to teaching and sermons, to opportunities to get involved - God's working here and I'm grateful to be a part of it.
Mission Church is without question the most friendly church I’ve ever attended. The people are genuinely interested in everyone, and quickly made us feel welcome. Pastor Ezra is extremely motivational and has a style that engages everyone. Anyone looking to build sincere friendships and participating in fun events should give Mission a try!
We had the best experience with this Church, some friends invited us to check it out we were looking for a home, when we arrived the people and the pastor and his family were so personable and welcomed us with open arms, the message we receive there is so simple to understand, we have been going there about 9 months now, and are involved with different ministries. I would highly recommend for anyone needing a place to call home.
Mission Church truly feels like home. My husband brought me to Mission Church when I first moved to Texas, and I’m so grateful he did. From the very first visit, I felt a genuine sense of love and community. The worship is powerful, the messages are meaningful, and everyone is so welcoming. It’s been a blessing to grow in faith together and be part of such an uplifting environment. Mission Church is my family away from home.
My sister invited me to visit her church on a Sunday morning. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed. The church had such a good vibe! Great community there.
