Mario's food is always delicious. But his "special" is always special. We got lucky enough to try his Chilli today and it is genuinely the best Chilli I've ever had in my entire life. Y'all come check out his fooood. Can't go wrong with anything from Mario but definitely ask for his special. You never know!
So today is my second time trying Mario's and I've got to say that the man makes FLAVORFUL FOOD! So far my family and I have tried the breakfast burritos and his tomato bisque with grilled cheese. The barbacoa and chorizo burritos hit the spot but the real magic was eating them with Mario's homemade salsas. I'm biased towards his red salsa for the flavor but his green salsa brings the heat! I combined them both. The bisque and grilled cheese was gouda goodness! The grilled cheese stands alone as a solid entree BUT when you have it with the tomato bisque it gets upgraded a couple of levels. Especially for this cold weather the bisque with grilled cheese is a heavy hitter. Talking to Mario while he made the food gave me insight into his love of food a d the passion he has for his craft. This spot is a 5/5 highly recommend!
This guy knows how to cook! Doesn't matter what it is, if he makes it, it's delicious. Always a good conversation too, and the food is very affordable and service is fast! One of my favorite spots for food in Taylor.
The chicken and dumplings soup was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and comforting, the chicken was tender and flavorful, and the dumplings were perfectly soft and hearty. It was incredibly satisfying—exactly the kind of meal you want when you’re craving something cozy and filling. I would definitely order it again.
Food was delicious. Breakfast was great. I come from Mcallen to work here every week always trying random spots and this one didn't disappoint food was awesome.
