A great option if you’re looking for something that tastes as good as it looks. The frosting is light and balanced, not overly sweet, and everything is fresh. You can tell a lot of care goes into each cake.
Y'all, look no further!!! I am through the moon & beyond happy with the outcome of my daughters birthday cake, cupcakes and cake pops we ordered from a small, female-run & operated local Round Rock baker called: Karissa's Cookies and Cakes who we hired for our daughter's birthday party where we had a large turn out (roughly 85 guests attended!) and I honestly could not be happier with the finished product. For starters, Karissa was an absolute delight to work with as I had very specific baking requests: everything made had to be baked exclusively using dye-free ingredients and half the batch of cupcake ordered required to be gluten-free in addition to dye-free and made exclusively with munk fruit sweetener instead of standard sugar cane, due to some of my guests having high dye sensitives to sugar and some of them being highly gluten intolerant with adverse reactions to sugar cane (hence why we substituted for munk fruit on part of our order) Our order was comprised of a beautiful, very sizeable two-tier rainbow and glitter themed dye-free red velvet cake, 3 dozen mixed variety vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with rainbow frosted topping, 36x pink vanilla centered cake pops (those we not completely dye free but baked with minimal dye), and a separate batch of gluten-free, dye-free cupcakes sweetened with monk fruit instead of regular sugar cane. And Karissa is very mindful and goes to great lengths to ensure all her gluten free baked goods never get cross contaminated with non-gluten free foods so that no risks are imposed on gluten intolerant customers. She even neatly and clearly labeled everything when it arrived to my home so I knew exactly what each item was and contained. I mean when I say I had very specific requests for Karissa that's ann understatement and Karissa exceeded my expectations beyond belief! Everything went off without a hitch. Every single item tasted amazing. The icing was so creamy and rich but not overly sugary like a store bought cake where the icing is overwhelmingly sweet, which is rare. It ended up being the highlight of the party, my guests were literally coming up to me complimenting on the flavor of the cake! Even my sister who is not a huge sweet consumer took home half of the remaining gluten free cupcakes because she said despite having very sensitive digestion issues her stomach had no issues digesting the cupcakes and she consumed them with ease. (Too much sugar inflamed her stomach, these cupcakes did not) Karissa is incredibly organized, communicative, and detail-oriented. She spent nearly two hours with me during our first consultation going over exactly what I wanted. She walked me through how dye-free baking works and explained that the colors would be softer due to using natural ingredients, and she showed visual examples so there were no surprises and I knew exactly what to expect and nailed my inspiration photo I shared with her upon delivery of all the baked goods! She even sourced the extra props on her own time such as my daughter's name plates and perfectly themed candles for a cohesive cake design and checked with me before moving forward to ensure it met my expectations. She went as far as far as delivered everything I ordered directly to my front door in a very secure and sturdy, perfectly boxed cake container and securely packaged all the cupcakes in the perfectly sized compartments so everything arrived in perfect condition. She even helped me set up the cupcakes, cake pops and cake the stands I bought. Karissa 1000% went above and beyond and you felt the passion and love in the flavor of thr baked goods! If you are looking for cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, gluten-free options, or dye-free desserts, and even baked goods baked with munk fruit instead of regular sugar cane , I highly recommend Karissa!! She is super talented, very transparent about her process, and truly cares about getting everything right so you as the customer walk away happy with the finished product. Karissa’s Cakes and Cookies is the best!! Her cakes and cupcakes are so deliciously moist with the best flavors ever. Her sugar cookies, chocolate chips, and oatmeal raisin cookies are to die for!! My birthday cake was ordered with her. It came out beautiful, delicious and when she delivered it she gad a smile on her face!! She also has made my kids birthday cakes, which they absolutely loved.

Karissa did an amazing job on a last-minute cake for my granddaughter’s 6th birthday! The cake was gorgeous, the chocolate with whipped cream filling was some of the best cake we’ve ever had, and her prices were very fair. She was professional, quick, and had it ready to go!

I’ve ordered from Karissa many times, and she never disappoints! Most recently, she made our wedding cake for our big day on July 18, 2025—and it was absolutely delicious. Funny enough, my aunt also had her wedding cake made by Karissa exactly 100 days before ours, and I was craving that cake the entire time. It was totally worth the wait! We chose white cake with strawberry filling, chocolate with chocolate filling, and red velvet. Every flavor was a hit with our guests, but the chocolate was my personal favorite. It’s only been a few weeks since the wedding, and I already want to order another one just to relive the experience. Karissa is my go-to for any event—or even just when I’m having a random dessert craving. Everything she makes is amazing, and I highly recommend her to anyone in need of delicious, beautifully made desserts.
I have had many of Karissa's treats over the years. They have ranged from simple yet tasteful chocolate chip cookies, decorative sugar cookies, soft and flavorful cupcakes to creative and delicious cakes. Definitely my go to for events and parties.
