62 from neighborsAbsolute highway robbery at this place. I took in 10 items and it came out to just shy of $100. $9 for a dry cleaned shirt? Are you out of your mind? Average in Austin and surrounding is $5 for a dry cleaned shirt. Will never be back here again. What a joke.
Older working woman working closes store early at night. I went to pick up a shirt at 6:50 and everything was locked. Also closes store for smoke breaks.
I had a shirt with stones that was cleaned and several of the stones fell off. They had placed them in a bag attached to the clothes. The lady at the front dumped the bag to see what it was and the stones went all over the counter. She proceeded to try to gather them back up while saying it will take some glue and tweezers to fix. Never did she offer a discount or anything not to mention she would have never gathered all the stones if I were going to fix it.
The lady give a quote of $4.00 to fix my shorts and charge $29, For $29 I can buy a new shorts !
Absolutely stellar service! This cleaners always returns my items promptly and in perfect condition. Amy at the front desk is a gem—she’s gone above and beyond to assist me on several occasions, always with a friendly smile and genuine care. It’s rare to find this level of professionalism and personal attention these days. I trust them completely with my fine wears and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend this location to anyone looking for reliable, top-notch service!
After being told button down shirts were $5.09 including tax over the phone I decided to go. When I got there the lady told me my pearl snap short sleeve shirts were going to be over $10 a piece and “don’t be surprised when you have a $150 bill” I was there as soon as they opened to get same day service on Monday, didn’t get my stuff until Wednesday afternoon. I dropped 6 pairs of jeans off for starch and 7 short sleeve shirts and I paid $125. Whatever, hope they do a good job :$845: look good yes. Every single pair of jeans (brand new) took the tags off in the cleaners, had random creases all over. One pair had the crease down the middle like normal -‘x another right beside it that went all the way down. All of the others have horrible wrinkling at the top of the thighs. Never again
Joe or Joan, whoever the older lady was working the front desk definitely doesn’t need to be in the customer service industry. From the walking I greeted her with a good morning and her response was “what’s your last name” I kindly smiled and told her I have never been to this location before, her rude response was “what’s your last name” I proceeded to give her my information. I let her know what I needed done 2 pants and 3 shirts. Mind you I’ve been to other JBC that are closer to my house, but I tried this location due to where I work. She proceeded to pick through my clothes and said the shirts I wanted clean cannot be done in the way that I requested. I’ve been to JBC before with the same clothes and didn’t have an issue. She was extremely rude from the initial interaction until the end. I don’t know if she had a bad morning or she’s just a grumpy person in general. From the looks at other reviews, it’s the same.
Posted this review in more detail on yelp, but in summary: we dropped off a suit with a few small light spots that maybe needed dry cleaning; picked it up promptly and hung it in the closet, pulled suit out of bag a few months later for the next event; same spots still on suit!!?!? took suit back into same store; all the lady would say is “we don’t guarantee anything” I asked her if there’s anything she could do she would not respond. Except to say “no we don’t guarantee anything” . I took suit home, put a little OxiClean on it, brushed it off. It was fine. I will never do business with this Jack Brown cleaners in Leander or any of their other stores. Best of luck to you all who do.
Jack Brown Cleaners in Leander is my go-to spot for all my dry cleaning needs! Located conveniently in the HEB plaza on Highway 183, they consistently deliver exceptional service with quick turnaround times. Pro tip: Take advantage of their fantastic Thursday specials! You can get laundered shirts for just $4.29, two-piece suits for $17.29, and dry cleaned pants or skirts for $8.59. The prices are reasonable, and the quality of work is outstanding. Their store hours are convenient and offer various services including dry cleaning, laundry, and alterations. What really sets them apart is their same-day service - drop off by 9 AM and your clothes are ready by 6 PM. They’ve been a Central Texas tradition since 1935, and it shows in their attention to detail and professional service
