Texas Medicare Shop

Texas Medicare shop and I have had a relationship since 2018. My wife signed with these great folks recently as well. They are very knowledgeable about Medicare and the changes that occur on a yearly basis. I was with one supplement provider and we have recently changed that with almost $200/month in savings. Gotta like that. Utilizing these folks, Gentry Ferguson and Bobby Coates gives you a secure feeling in knowing that your best interest is all they care about. We are so fortunate to have the Medicare Shop in our area. Wayne Coates is very thorough and thoughtful in assisting in all things Medicare. He is updated on all the products and knows the right questions to ask to get you the best insurance. Presley is also very nice and efficient when you call, whether setting up an appointment or asking any other questions. I would recommend their services if you have any questions about Medicare.

I have been dealing with these folks since I initially became eligible for Medicare. I had no idea it was so involved and complicated. I knew nothing about how to handle this. I saw Bobby who literally saved me. I walked out of there with a little more understanding and knowledge. I felt at ease entering this chapter. I have continued to see him every year to be sure my needs were being met and my plan was what I needed. Every one at the office is super friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them and urge you to visit them and remove the stress you endure trying to handle this alone.

Update: I found out yesterday that my current United Healthcare Plan is not disappearing as of 12/31/25, as I was told at this location. The plan is in force and will continue with a few increases which are still 50% less expensive than the plan that I was signed up for and approved. I was misinformed and, had I not consulted directly with my insurance provider, would have made a costly mistake for 2026, solely based on the recommendation made at this location. As an example, my current plan has a 2026 hospital deductible of $150 per day for the first 6 days. The plan I was offered is $325 per day for first 6 days!! I thought this was an amazing experience; walked in without an appointment and just as soon as I was almost done providing my information I was able to meet with Mr. Bobby Coates, however , I was misinformed. Mr Coates is professional and knowledgeable. With a few key questions he was able to identify my medical coverage requirements and find a plan that provides coverage with my current physicians and medications., however, I was misinformed and was told my plan would end 12/31/2025. United healthcare confirmed that it is not ending!! Because I was already changed I had to reapply to my current plan, which I’ve had for over 5 years, and am pending acceptance. If you have a current plan, speak directly to them for options to avoid misinformation. Thank You!!

They were great to work with! She pulled up the available plans and narrowed them down to fit my needs. Then showed us online a comparison between plans and costs. Made finding a new plan so easy. Did the application and submitted it for us. Would use them every time!!! Friendly staff and a very comfortable place.
