Looking for a family night out that’s fun and useful? Head to Dell Diamond on Wednesday, Sept. 2, for the first Emergency Preparedness Night!
The Round Rock Express will take on the Oklahoma City Comets, and families can meet local emergency managers and disaster-response organizations while learning simple ways to prepare for severe weather and other emergencies. Plus, it’s $1 Hot Dog Night!

The event will showcase local hometown heroes who step up when Central Texans need them most, helping communities prepare, respond and recover from severe storms, floods, wildfires and other emergencies. Participating organizations include emergency management officials and representatives from:

Williamson County
Williamson County ESD No. 4
City of Leander
City of Hutto
City of Austin
Texas Division of Emergency Management
Austin Disaster Relief Network
National Weather Service
Williamson County and Cities Health District
Texas Search and Rescue
Civil Air Patrol
American Red Cross
Gates open at 6 p.m. and City of Round Rock’s Emergency Management Coordinator Cheree Smith will throw out the first pitch at 6:45 p.m. A ticket to the Round Rock Express game is required.

Don’t forget! National Preparedness Month is September, so it’s a great time to make a plan, build a kit, stay informed and know your neighbors.
